If you spend any of your time dealing with the cloud native world, you’ve probably already heard about Kubeflow. It’s something we’ve been playing with since we first began to explore the possibility of running Tensorflow in a distributed way. That was quite some time ago. Since then, Kubeflow has rapidly evolved, so that it now includes dozens of machine learning (ML) frameworks. The frameworks allow for the training and serving of all kinds of machine learning models.

Service interruptions caused by outages have severe consequences that range from harming a provider’s reputation to frustrating a customer to the point that they move to a competitor, so it’s extremely important to build and run resilient systems. Resiliency must be implemented at multiple levels from the bottom infrastructure layer to the application. For our customers, it’s a necessity that the EKS clusters they deploy their production applications onto be highly available.

The Banzai Cloud Pipeline platform allows enterprises to develop, deploy and scale container-based applications. It leverages best-of-breed cloud components, such as Kubernetes, to create a highly productive, yet flexible environment for developers and operation teams alike. One of the main features of the Pipeline platform is that it allows enterprises to run workloads cost effectively by mixing spot instances with regular ones, without sacrificing overall reliability. This requires quite a lot of behind the scenes magic to be built on top of core Kubernetes building blocks.

The service has been launched this June, with the objective to make it easy for you to run Kubernetes on AWS without needing to install, operate, and maintain your own Kubernetes control plane.
